after school reading tutoring 6 & 7

During the last two weeks that SJ had his reading tutoring sessions, they started a new novel. They are now reading Scat by Carl Hiaasen.  

When they started reading it a couple of weeks ago, SJ said several times that he was not using this book for his 2nd Nine Weeks book report.  He stated this fact to me and Mrs. Banks.  Mrs. Banks said that was fine and she didn't leave the book at our house.

Then, a few days before he was to present his choice to Mrs. Page, he decided he was going to use this book for his book report.  When Mrs. Banks was at our house that week, he told her he was using Scat.  She told him she would leave the book with us, so that we can read in between tutoring sessions.  

She told me that he did an excellent job and she was impressed that his focus has improved. That is always nice to hear.
