rainy day = movie day

Last Friday, it was a miserable day out. It was raining all day. I had a doctor's appointment in the morning, but after I returned I thought SJ and I could go to a movie. SJ had wanted to see Monsters University, so I told him we could go after my appointment. I asked my neighbor if her son and she would like to join us. They already had plans, but she had some free passes for us to use.  Bonus!

SJ and I drove to the theater. We both got snacks. He got popcorn and lemonade and I got peanut M&M's and a diet coke. The theater had only a few other patrons, so we had a many seats to choose from. We got settled and waited for the movie to begin. After 12 minutes, the movie still hadn't started. An usher came in and said they were having trouble with the projector. They were hoping it would start in a few minutes. Five minutes later, the same usher returned with apologies. He said the projector was broken and we could come back for the next show.

I thought SJ was going to throw a fit, but he was surprisingly calm about it. I told him we would come back to the next show, which was two hours later. "What about the food?" he asked. "We can just take it home," I said.

So two hours later, we were back at the theater. SJ wanted to get more popcorn and another drink (the others were finished at home) and we got our same seats. The theater was a little more crowded this time, but SJ said we were lucky to get our same seats. The movie started this time with no problem. It was really good. It had a Revenge of the Nerds feel to it. I liked it better than the first one, Monsters Inc.

After the movie, we drove home to see what my husband and Bob were doing. They were just hanging out. I made dinner and the boys started playing in the house. We made the most out of the rainy day.
