after school tutoring #1

Monday was SJ's first after school tutoring session with Mrs. Banks as a 6th grader.  He was complaining quite a bit before she arrived.  I ignored his complaints and told him he could play until she arrived.  

She got to our house a little after 4:15.  She told him that they were going to finish The Island: Survival book.  He asked her how many chapters they had left.  They only had two.  He told her that he could read if she would read too.  She said she could absolutely do that. 

They finished the book and completed the packet worksheet.  She was very pleased with his effort.  She told me she wasn't sure if she would do the third book in The Island series.  I hope she does, because he really seemed to enjoy it.
