summer speech #8

Last Wednesday, SJ had his weekly speech therapy session.  This was his last daytime appointment. We will be switching to evening appointments this week.

She reviewed some words that SJ has been having trouble with.  She decided to have SJ write the words on a sheet of paper.  She had him list the word with a definition or synonym, an opposite word and an association or example.

The following words were the ones they reviewed:

tidy-neat-messy-tidy room or tidy clothes

thoroughly-completely-nothing-thoroughly cleaned, thoroughly brushed my teeth or thoroughly tried

rarely-hardly ever or almost never-often-rarely finish my test or rarely go swimming

exactly-really-not quite-exactly what I want to do

wade-walk in water or mud-wade in the kiddy pool

babble-to make sounds that have no meaning-a baby babbles

link-one of the loops on a chain-link on a fence or necklace

She also reviewed synonyms.  She went over a few with him and assigned the remainder for homework.  Out of the five she did with him, he only had trouble with the word aid.

She wants me to pick a few of the words that he has trouble with and have him give a synonym, opposite and an association.
